The Shelter Island Art Association was founded in 1973 and was originally known as the Bayside Artists.

In 1988 the group merged with the Shelter Island Crafts Group and changed the name to The Shelter Island Art Association.
There have been artists showing out on the lawn near the traffic circle every weekend since the original group was formed.
The Association provides a place for local San Diego area artists to show and sell their art work.
Artists are juried in by the entire group at any given show so the quality and professionalism of the work is very high.
The goal of the Shelter Island Art Association is to bring emerging artists to the public in a pleasant and easily accessible forum.
We have a beautiful setting near the waterfront with breathtaking views of the San Diego skyline as a backdrop.
Please come by and Enjoy!
